Enrollment

Cordova Music Studio offers music lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. To enroll for classes, call 909-374-2856 or come into the studio in person. The enrollment fee is $15 per student ($30 per family) non refundable.  This fee is due annually on the same day of original registration the following year.

Lesson schedule

Lessons are scheduled based on an agreement made between the student and instructor and room availability. The lesson(s) must remain consistent as far as time and day and cannot be changed from week to week, unless the instructor or student needs to reschedule because of an emergency.

Lesson Schedule Change

To change your lesson schedule, you must either call 909-374-2856 or preferably come in person to arrange a new lesson day and time. Lessons schedule changes are based on teacher and room availability.

Cancelling and rescheduling

If a student cannot attend his or her lesson, a courtesy call or email is expected at least 24 hours prior to the lesson. If we do not receive notice of a class cancellation with at least 24 hours of anticipation, then no make up class will be given.

Make up lessons can be scheduled only within the month that the original class was in.

Instructor Cancellation

If an instructor is not available for their lesson, than a substitute teacher will be appointed. If there is no substitute teacher available, then the student and instructor can reschedule. If rescheduling cannot be done, the lesson will be credited towards the following month.

Note -  a class will only be credited towards the next month only if there is no instructor available, not if a student cancels.

Refunds

There are no refunds. If a class is cancelled by either student or instructor, then the lesson will be rescheduled or credited towards the next month.

Student Expectations

The student is expected to show up to lessons on time. If a student is late, then the minutes that they missed are not required to be made up. This is because many classes are scheduled back to back.

During the lesson, the student(s) is expected to respect, listen, and cooperate with the instructor. If the student(s) is misbehaving or acting uncooperative, then the instructor holds the right to end the lesson early or ask the student to exit the room.

The student is expected to practice regularly. To figure out how much to practice, ask your instructor. Practice is a fundamental part of a students improvement, and without sufficient practice, private or group lesson will not be effective.

Parent Expectation

The parent(s) or legal Guardian(s) of the student are expected to support and encourage their children to practice regularly and show up to class on time.

We encourage parents not to voice their opinions, unless asked by the instructor, during class time as it will distract the instructor and student.

During The Lesson

The parent(s) or legal Guardian(s) of the student are allowed to enter or leave the room at any time during the lesson. Out of courtesy to our instructors, it is expected that anyone in the room during the time of the lesson is quiet and respectful.

Payments

Payments for lessons can be either paid monthly or class by class

Payments for monthly lessons are due by the 28th of each month in advance for the following month. If payment is not received by the 28th of the month prior to beginning, then a $10 late fee will be applied. Payments can be made either by cash, money order, or check.

If you are paying class by class, then payment is due either by check or cash at the front desk at the beginning of class.  It is the student’s or student’s parents responsibility to carry the exact amount due for the class since we will not always have change. Students who are paying class by class are expected to show up to class every week. If a 24 hour notice of cancellation is given to us then they will be allowed to make up this lesson within the same month. If there is not at least a 24 hour notice then the student will still have to pay that class next time they return for a lesson. If there is a 24 hour notice of a cancellation and the student does not wish to make up the lesson, then the student is required to pay only half the amount of the lesson missed in order to keep his or her weekly spot.

Withdrawal

A withdrawal notice must be given with two weeks of anticipation of the last lesson that the student will be attending. If this is not done with at least two weeks of anticipation, then there will be a $20 fee.
